Charles "Teeny" Elzy, Jr.

August 8, 1953 — August 19, 2026

Charles “Teeny” Elzy, Jr., beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, was all of these and so much more to everyone blessed to know him. Though Teeny’s life came with challenges, his journey was authored by the Lord our God, who carried him with grace from beginning to end. Born on August 8, 1953, to the late Charles Elzy and Helen “Elena” Elzy, Teeny spent his early childhood to adulthood in Franklinton, Louisiana, where he was lovingly raised by his Aunt Alaine Graves, known affectionately as “Big Mama.” under her care, Teeny grew into a joyful soul.

By God’s mercy, Teeny lived a fun-filled life in the way only he knew how. On August 19, 2026, he peacefully drew his last breath on Earth and entered eternal rest with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Teeny spent his later years at the Good Samaritan Living Center, where he was cared for by staff who became like a surrogate family. Their compassion and companionship filled his days, while his loved ones visited and cherished every moment shared with him.

Though we say goodbye for now, Teeny’s life will not be forgotten. He was known in his earlier years before his illness as the “Guitar Man.” Teeny was also known for his love for Danny’s & Popeye’s Chicken. He was a living example of God’s daily hand upon him. Teeny lived, Teeny loved, and Teeny fought a lifelong battle with favor. Teeny shade tears for his Big Mama, now he’s at rest with both of his Mamas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elena Elzy; Big Mama, Aunt Alaine Graves; siblings, Clarence “Poonie” Bell, Lorita Linda Elzy, and Lionel Elzy; nephews, Timothy Williams and Melvin Bell, Jr., first cousins, Richard “Dick” Tate, & Theordore Tate, Jr.

Teeny leaves to mourn his sister, Barbara Volter of California; brothers, Calvin (JoAnn) Elzy, and Alvin Elzy of New Orleans, LA, Larry Dillon of Baton Rouge, LA, Melvin (Diana)Bell of Houston, TX; his sisters and brothers from Big Mama Graves, Rosita Bickman Lewis of New Orleans, LA; Benny Paul “Borther” Tate, Jerry (Lucille) Bickman & Robert “Midge” Bickman all of Franklinton, La; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 11:00AM – 2:00PM followed by the funeral service at 2:30PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home .
