Delorese Bickerstaff Day
January 25, 1934 — August 23, 2026
Delorese Bickerstaff Day gained her angel wings in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 92. Delorese was born in Tupelo, Mississippi and moved to Bogalusa, Louisiana with her parents as a young girl.
Delorese started working at Washington Bank in Bogalusa right out of High School and remained there until her retirement with 30 plus years of service.
Delorese enjoyed oil painting, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. She was also a member of Superior Avenue Baptist Church of Bogalusa.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Lorio (Robert) Robertson; stepson, C. A. “Bucky” Day; grandchildren, Jason Carroll Smith, and James Dustin Smith; great granddaughters, Emily, Ashlyn, Kenna, Cassie, and Ariana; great great grandson, Tate.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Oliver S. “Buck” Day; parents, Lydia Mae Bickerstaff, and John D. Bickerstaff; brother Robert E. Bickerstaff; son in law, Joseph A. Lorio.
A Special Thanks to Resthaven Living Center, Staff, Nurses, and CNP’s. Also, Foundations Hospice for taking such loving care of Delorese during her last days.
A Private Graveside Service will be held for Delorese.
