Tinaja Taylor, age 24 and an employee of an outside vendor that provides commissary services at the St.Tammany Parish Correctional Center was arrested August 6, 2026 after an investigation revealed she was bringing illegal contraband into the facility. Taylor was charged with two counts of L.R.S. 14:402 Taking Contraband to and From a Penal Facility.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
“The safety and security of the parish correctional facility is something we take very seriously,” Sheriff Bret Ibert said. “Bringing contraband into a jail puts our corrections deputies, staff and inmates at risk, and we will not tolerate it. This investigation is ongoing, and if others are found to be involved, they too will be held accountable.”
