Tip Leads to Drug Arrests, Removal of Children and Neglected Animals

An anonymous tip on May 19, 2026 led detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Narcotics Unit to a Pearl River-area residence (the 64000 block of Hwy. 3081), where illegal drugs, 9 dogs, 5 cats and two children were located.

Detectives located and seized marijuana intended for distribution and detectives also located 9 dogs and 5 cats, which appeared to be neglected and two small children living in conditions unfit for children.

Detectives contacted the Department of Children & Family Services as well as St. Tammany Parish Animal Control who both responded to the scene. St. Tammany Parish Animal Control took custody of 9 dogs and 5 cats, and the Department of Children & Family Services was contacted in reference to the children.

The two adult residents of the home, 32-year-old Kassi Kandice King and 31-year-old Jeanluc Maser Saucier, were arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on the charges of L.R.S. 14:93 A1 Cruelty to Juveniles (2 counts), L.R.S. 14:93 A3 Cruelty to Juveniles (2 counts), L.R.S. 14:102.1 Animal Cruelty (14 counts), L.R.S. 40:966AC Possession with the intent to distribute schedule I CDS Marijuana, and L.R.S. 14:91.13 Illegal use of a CDS in the presence of a CDS (2 counts).
