Keith Brian Barber
December 18, 1962 - May 31, 2026
Keith Brian Barber, age 63 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away early Sunday morning May 31, 2026 at East Jefferson General Hospital. He was born December 18, 1962 and graduated from Franklinton High School, where he was a standout member of the Demons baseball team, receiving several team awards. Keith had a long career as a heavy equipment operator working for Barber Brothers and Standard Gravel. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Keith always enjoyed hanging out with friends and family at his camp on the Bogue Chitto River. He liked to watch all his favorite old western TV shows and movies and he had a special place in his heart for his pet dog “Rip”.
Survived by: Son: Brian Barber and Sarah McElveen; Daughter and Son in law: Kacie and Seth Urban; Grandchildren: Bryce Barber, Madison Barber and their mother Chelsea Spears, Alyssa Urban, Lane Urban, Noah Lea, Raelyn Sanders, Kenley Hillburn, Graysyn Hillburn, Magnolia Mayo, Oliver Mayo; Sister and Brother in law: Pam and Jeff Taylor; Brother and Sister in law: Clint and Stacy Barber; Longtime Companion: Susan Gendusa; Also numerous nieces, nephews and their families
He was preceded in death by his wife Ginger Ann Manning Barber, parents D V Barber and Mary Ellen Toney Barber and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday June 4th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Thursday with Bro. Mike Daniel and Bro. Travis Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Star Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to help with final expenses.
