Marvin A. Jefferson, Sr.
August 29, 1941 — June 8, 2026
"For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O Death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" (1 Corinthians 15:53-56 KJV)
On June 8th, 2026, Marvin A. Jefferson, Sr. exchanged his position in the Earthly realm for his heavenly place. Marvin was born August 29, 1941, in Angie, LA, to the union of Thomas Harvey Jefferson, Sr and Zena Bickham-Jefferson.
He was the tenth child born to this union. Marvin is the father of four lovely children from a previous marriage and one bonus son. Marvin was educated in the Washington Parish School System. He attended Wesley Ray High School, where he played football and basketball. Marvin worked for several companies before being employed by Gaylord Containers. Those companies were Schwegmann Giant Supermarket, Moisant (New Orleans) Airport, Grain Elevators, and Ingalls Shipbuilding. However, most of his adult life was spent working for Gaylord Containers. He will be missed for his meekness and gentle spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Marvin A. Jefferson, Jr., four brothers, and two sisters.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 10:00AM – 12:00PM followed by funeral service at 12:00PM at New Life Fellowship 211 Eagle Day Ave. Columbia, MS 39429. Interment - Jefferson Cemetery.
Crain and Sons Funeral Home - Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
