Ella Faye Day was born on November 5, 1937 in Bogalusa, Louisiana and passed away on June 13, 2026, following a brief illness.
Ella Faye was the daughter of Robert Clarence Wheat and Grace Applewhite Wheat. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Van Day; her stepson, Dr. Alan Day; and her twin brother, Joe Ray Wheat.
She is survived by her daughters, Vanessa Lawson and husband Ed Lawson, and Robin Day Dantin; her stepson, Gary V. Day; her grandson, Dawson Kade Day; her great-grandson, Greyson Cruz Day; her sister, Betty June Stogner; and her brother, Robert Earl Wheat, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Ella Faye worked for 38 years at Rosenblum’s, where she developed lifelong friendships while helping generations of loyal customers find the latest fashions. She was known for her reliability, kindness, and honest opinion. If an outfit suited you, Ella Faye would let you know—and if it didn’t, she would let you know that too. Her warmth, sense of humor, and genuine care for others made her a joy to be around.
Ella Faye treasured her family and friends and leaves behind many cherished memories. Her grandson, Dawson Kade Day, and great-grandson, Greyson Cruz Day, held a special place in her heart and brought her immeasurable joy. Her loving spirit, strength, and devotion to those she loved will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Lo Lo’s Social Club, 224 Louisiana Ave, Bogalusa, LA 70427 on Saturday June 20, 2026, from 3:00p.m. until 5:00p.m.
A private burial will be held at Ponemah Cemetery.
