The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office, in a brief press release, reports that around 3 a.m. this morning (May 17, 2026), 64-year-old Johnny Slocum was reported to have been shot in the Jamieson Creek Road area.
Slocum was transported to Riverside Medical Center where he later passed away from his injuries. Michael Martin, age 23, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Martin was booked into the Washington Parish Jail. Bond has been set at $750,000.00.
