September 29, 1953 — April 1, 2026
Rebecca Dean “Becky” Boyd, age 72, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Her family finds comfort in knowing she lived a life full of love, kindness, and quiet strength.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS, with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow at Fannin Baptist Cemetery in Fannin, MS.
Becky was born on September 29, 1953, to the late William Dewey Norton and Alice Brill Norton, and was raised in Bogalusa, LA. She made her home in Pelahatchie, MS, where she built a life centered around faith, family, and service to others. Becky faithfully served as Circuit Clerk for Rankin County, MS, and touched many lives through her work and her caring spirit. She was active in church all of her life, and her faith was a guiding light in everything she did.
She had a heart for helping others and was a passionate volunteer with the GED program, always encouraging those around her to keep going and believe in themselves. She found joy in the simple things—tending to her garden, spending time with loved ones, and sharing kindness wherever she went. Becky was devoted to her family, generous to all, and known for her warm smile that she seemed to wear all the time, bringing comfort and light to everyone she met.
She is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Randy Boyd and Buddy Boyd (April); her brothers, Ricky Norton (Lois) and Danny Norton (Kathy); and her cherished grandchildren, Bella Boyd, Melanie Boyd (David Huff), Madalyn Boyd, and Barrett Boyd. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love and compassion.
Becky was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Boyd, and her son, George William Boyd, Jr. She is now reunited in heaven with her husband and other loved ones who have gone before her, a joyful homecoming that brings peace to those she leaves behind. Though she is no longer with us, her love remains deeply rooted in the hearts of all who knew her.
