Connie Sue (Reeves) Jenkins

October 7, 1950 - March 31, 2026

Connie Sue Jenkins, age 75 and a resident of Denham Springs, passed away late Tuesday night March 31, 2026 at her home. She was born on October 7, 1950 and was a native of Washington Parish but had lived in Denham Springs for over 45 years. Connie was retired after a 25 year career for National Tea Company. She was a member of True Light Baptist Church that certainly loved the Lord and her church family. She enjoyed sewing and knitting and loved all the small pet dogs she cared for over the years. Connie especially liked to watch her favorite older crime-drama TV shows, like “In The Heat Of The Night”, “Murder, She Wrote” and others. She always loved spending time with her family and taking care of her beloved grandchildren.

Survived by: Daughter: Elizabeth Gurtner and life-partner Donald Magee of Natchez, MS; Son and Daughter in law: James Keith and Lisa Jenkins of Denham Springs; Grandchildren and Spouses: Joey and Rachel Gurtner, Jamie and Star Gurtner, Jacob and Carlie Jenkins, Taelor Magee, Leah Jenkins, Lacy Jenkins, Layton Jenkins; Great-grandchildren: Hunter, Alex, Lillith, Ren; Special Friend: Rodney Smith; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years James Jenkins, parents Connie R. Reeves and Mildred Lambert Reeves, grandparents Odis and Myrtle Lee Lambert, son in law Edward C. Gurtner, III, father in law and mother in law Felder and Lizzie Jenkins and many other family members.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday April 6th in the Wilmer Baptist Church Cemetery (65243 Hwy. 1061, Kentwood, LA) with Eld. Lerand Hunt officiating.

Connie preferred to not have flowers sent for her funeral, so she asked that people make memorial donations to a local charity of their choice.
