Lorena McCoy Garrett

May 27, 1935 — March 28, 2026

Lorena McCoy Garrett was born May 27, 1935 to the late Mary Jane York McCoy in Folsom, Louisiana. She was married to the late McClendon Garrett.

Lorena McCoy Garrett was an avid gardener, that nurtured her beautiful flowers and looked forward to their seasonal blooms as well as her vegetable gardens that produced many crops that she shared with their family and members of the community. She also worked in a private setting caring for a family mosst of her early adult life. Lorena loved her family and was a firm beliver in keeping the family together. She frequently held family reunions hosting her family from near and far.

Lorena McCoy Garrett is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jane York McCoy; her siblings, Alice MCCoy, Queen Ester McCoy, R.D. McCoy, Jessie York, Ephrim McCoy (Pearl), and Alton McCoy; her three sons, Albert Garrett (Louise), Elmo Garrett (infant), and Troy Garrett.

Lorena McCoy Garrett is survived by her six children, Mary Garrett, Ray Garrett(Margie), Bruce Garrett, John Garrett, Joseph Garrett (Carleta), and Sandy Garrett; her siblings, Rosa Lee Brown, Audrey Taylor, Jetty Gregory, and Loron McCoy; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 11:00AM at Midway Church of Christ Holiness 83359 LA-25, Folsom, LA 70437 with Pastor LeRoy Divinity - Officiating.
