Clarence Alton Russell
January 8, 1953 - March 18, 2026
Clarence Alton Russell, age 73 and a resident of the Springhill Community, passed away Wednesday morning March 18, 2026 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born near Amite on January 8, 1953 and grew up in the area. Clarence was retired after a long career as a diesel and heavy equipment mechanic for Caterpillar, working out of the Baton Rouge, Reserve and New Orleans offices through the years. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He always enjoyed relaxing around the house drinking coffee and eating his favorite chocolate. Clarence loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survived by: Wife of 50 years: Marilyn Knight Russell; Daughter and Son in law: Melissa Russell and Sam Yoselevitz of Virginia Beach, VA; Son and Daughter in law: Adam Lane and Schantell Russell of Franklinton; Grandchildren and Spouses: Noah Yoselevitz, Evan Yoselevitz, Abbi Russell Isidore and Jah-keim Isidore, Hunter Russell and Brylee Pittman, Shelbi Russell, Rhett Russell; Great-grandchildren: Winter and Vera; Sister: Malaki Gore of Texas; Special Aunt: Jerry King of Amite; Also numerous nieces, nephews and many other family members
He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald Dent Russell and Lavilla Sharkey Russell, a sister Ellen Russell Brocato and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday March 27th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Friday with Rev. Joey Miller and Dr. Keith Sheridan officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Cemetery.
