Roger Allen Pittman

Roger Allen Pittman, age 78, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026. He was born on September 20, 1947, in Magnolia, Mississippi, and was a resident of Kentwood, Louisiana.
Mr. Pittman was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served his country from 1967 to 1970 during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Korea for 18 months. He held the rank of Specialist E5 and received multiple medals for his service. Following his military career, he dedicated over 40 years of service to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development before retiring. He also worked for McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, for many years.
He attended Psalms 23 Ministries Church of Hope with his family and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially working outside and bird watching. Anyone that knew him knows that he never met a stranger and was never afraid to speak his mind.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lois Stinson Pittman; daughter, Karen Pittman Welch and her husband, Lance Welch; his grandchildren, Torben and Shelbi Lane; 2 sisters, Marie Kimble and her husband, Milton, and Janet Tigner; sister-in-law, Linda Burt; brother-in-law, Terry Miller; nephews, Jacob Crowe, Paul Stinson, Jr., Raymond Burt, Jr., and Christopher Pittman; as well as numerous more nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Ray Pittman, Sr. and Bertha Gill Pittman; siblings, Dudley “Chuck” Pittman, James “Jimmy” Pittman, Bobby Ray Pittman, Jr., and Jo Etta Miller; and in-laws, Earl Stinson, Sr. and Adelaide LaBrache Stinson, Peggy Stinson, Earl Stinson, Jr., Paul Stinson, Sr., Bobby Tigner, and Raymond Burt, Sr.
Visitation will be held at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 6:00PM until 9:00PM on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
