Donis Lagail Calhoun
November 19, 1954 - December 30, 2025
Donis Lagail Calhoun was born on November 19, 1954 to the union of Deacon Dewitt Robinson and Mother Altha Mae Robinson. She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized in Haye’s Creek. She was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal church under the leadership of the late Elder Apostle Jimmy Robinson Sr.
Known as a vocalist, Donis used her voice to uplift, worship, and glorify God. Through song she ministered to many while traveling with her family to tent revivals throughout the South bringing comfort, joy, and inspiration. Her praise was sincere, and her worship flowed from a heart deeply rooted in faith.
Donis lived a life marked by faith, love, and service. She was the embodiment of a virtuous woman-strong in spirit, generous in heart, and unwavering in her devotion to God and family. Her wisdom, kindness, and gentle guidance left a lasting mark on all who knew her.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Donis poured her love into her family, always placing their needs above her own. Her daughter and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she nurtured them with prayer, encouragement, and unconditional love.
Donis’ legacy will live on through her daughter, Samaria Warner, son-in-law, Atari Warner and her grandchildren, Jakobie, Alandria, Amyriel, and Aubry all of Franklinton, LA. She will also be cherished by one sister, Tammy (Nathaniel) Hopkins of Franklinton, LA, three brothers, Elder Pastor John Henry Robinson of Franklinton, LA, David Robinson and Reginald Robinson both of Kent, WA, four sisters in love Pat Robinson of Oakley, CA, Lucille Robinson of Franklinton, LA, Donna Robinson and Deborah Robinson of Kent WA, a goddaughter Kandyce Robinson of Oakley, CA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Donis was preceded in death by her parents, Deacon Dewitt Robinson and Mother Altha Mae Robinson, seven brothers Lawrence Robinson, Bonnie Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Robinson, Elder Apostle Jimmy Robinson, Assistant Pastor Dewitt Robinson, Pastor Willie B Robinson, Kathaw Robinson, and two sisters, Leolar McClain and Loretta Dillon.
A drive through viewing will be held on Friday, January 9, 2025 from 3:00PM - 6:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2025 at 11:00AM at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church 24298 Harvey Road Franklinton, LA with Pastor Norman Robinson - Pastor Officiating.
Crain and Sons Funeral Home - Franklinton are in charge of arrangements.
