Jan Marie LaBorde

May 12, 1960 - January 11, 2026

Jan Marie LaBorde, age 64 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away peacefully Sunday morning January 11, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was a born in New Orleans on May 12 1960, and grew up in St. Bernard, LA before graduating from Andrew Jackson High School in Chalmette. Jan obtained a nursing degree from Holy Cross College and began a long career as a Registered Nurse, honorably serving countless patients through the years. Jan worked at Ochsner Medical Center and Chalmette Hospital before moving to Washington Parish, where she served at Riverside Medical Center and later for many years at the Bogalusa Medical Center now Our Lady of the Angels Hospital. For a time, Jan even served as a traveling nurse, helping in several different states around the country. She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Franklinton, who volunteered on various committees and groups to serve her church family. Jan loved flower gardening and operated SweetPea blueberry farm on her property. She always enjoyed camping and going on family vacations to the mountains. She was forever a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister that cherished the time spent with her family. Jan will be sadly missed by her loved ones and all that knew her well.

Survived by: Husband of 30 years: Rene LaBorde of Franklinton; 2 Sons: Dustin LaBorde of Cape Canaveral, FL, Seith LaBorde of Covington; 3 Daughters and Sons in law: Bobbie and Brad Marino of Frankliton, Tabitha and Michael Gibson of Bentley, LA, Misty Laborde and Brad Parker of Pineville, LA; Grandchildren: Ronald, Suzanne, Darianna, Abygale, Lukas, Gracie, Carolin, Jeffrey, Jayda, Sierah, Semaj, Pheibey; Mother and Step-father: Linda and Errance Plaisance of Franklinton; Brother: Charles LaGreca of Schriever, LA; Also numerous beloved brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews and many friends

She was preceded in death by her daughter Brandi Sander and father Charles LaGreca.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) Thursday January 15th from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church (1220 14th Ave., Franklinton) from 9:30 am until the time of the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Father Pedro Prada officiating. Burial will follow in the Saint Joseph Abbey Cemetery near Covington.
