Allen Burkhalter

October 13, 1949 - December 25, 2025

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many

Allen Burkhalter was born on October 13, 1949 to Willie “Dumas” Burkhalter and Mecia Dupon Burkhalter.

He was married to Sandra Smith for 29 years and grew up in a large family.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Sandra Burkhalter of Mt. Hermon LA; two stepchildren, Cardasha of Atlanta GA; Kendmell Mt. Hermon, LA; sisters, Augustine White of Dayton OH, Gwendolyn Dyson of Los Angeles, CA; step sisters, Ola (Richard) Magee of Franklinton, LA, Katrine Gibbs of Bogalusa, LA; step brother, Edward (Deborah) Norman; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Essie Burkhalter of Los Angeles, CA, Mary Burkhalter of Roseland, LA, Virginia (Samuel) Issac, Johnny (Henretea) Harvey, Lora (Michael) Burton, Timothy Smith, Theresa (Ollie) McClendon; four step grandchildren, Rodrick Antoine, Markayla and Malaysia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

His heavenly entrance will be greeted by his parents, Willie “Dumas” and Mecia Burkhalter, step mother, Mae Bell Burkhalter; sisters, Dorothy Briggs, Carol Bell, Judy Burkhalter, Willie Tammie Burkhalter; step brothers, Michael Norman, Jessie Norman, David Norman, Leroy Norman, and Kelly Norman; and a stepsister, Delores Norman. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2025 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM at Union Chapel AME Church 23011 Silver Creek Rd Kentwood, LA 70444 with Eld. Albert Brumfield – Officiating. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Franklinton are in charge of arrangements.
