Obituary

Howard Isaac Dyson

February 13, 1960 - November 26, 2025

Howard Isaac Dyson, a beloved son, father, grandfather, and friend, departed this earthly life on November 26, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on February 13, 1960, in Franklinton, Louisiana, Howard lived a life rooted in peace, love, family, and faith.

Howard was the cherished son of Zolda Wilson Dyson, who survives him. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Tevoy Dyson Harry, whom he loved beyond measure. Howard also held a special bond with his son-in-love, Jason Harry, and treasured his granddaughter Tessa Harry and his grandson Winston Isaac Harry, named in honor of him.

Howard graduated from Franklinton High School, Class of 1978, and soon after answered the call to serve his country. He joined the United States Army, where he proudly served for 5 years and 3 months, traveling the world and gaining a deeper appreciation for humanity, culture, and unity.

After completing his military service, Howard returned home to Washington Parish, where he worked for several companies throughout his life. For the past 20 years, he was a dedicated employee at City Blueprint in Mandeville, Louisiana, where he was treasured by his coworkers, clients, and community.

Howard lived his life as a true Rasta man; walking in peace, speaking truth, loving deeply, and uplifting everyone he encountered. He found joy in the simple beauty of life: good music, meaningful conversation, family gatherings, and the laughter of his grandchildren. A devoted admirer of Christianity and Rastafarianism, which spreads a message of unity, strength, and spiritual freedom in his heart and daily life.

“Live for yourself and you will live in vain; live for others and you will live again.” — Bob Marley

Howard had no siblings, but he was surrounded by a large, loving family. He is survived by four aunts, Bobbie Burris, Joann Wilson, Louise Topps, and Otheal Wilson, and an abundance of cousins whom he loved as siblings.

Howard was a man of quiet glory, humble, strong, loyal, and full of pride. He cared for his mother faithfully after the passing of his father, Dock Dyson, Jr. and remained a steady foundation for his family. His presence brought comfort, and his spirit brought peace.

He leaves behind a legacy of honor, kindness, and compassion.   To know Howard was to be touched by gentleness, wisdom, and a warm smile that could ease any burden.
