Martha Penton Ladner

July 14, 1939 - December 24, 2025

Mrs. Martha Ladner, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday December 24, 2025 in Franklinton, Louisiana.

Born on July 14, 1939, Martha was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was known as the warmest presence in any room. She was kind, thoughtful, and wonderfully silly in a way that made everyone feel at home. Her love for her family was endless and unwavering, and she poured her heart into those she loved the most.

Martha shared 62 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Doyle Ladner. Together, they built a life centered on family, love, and togetherness. She treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren. She loved to crochet, and in her later years, loved online art puzzles.

Above all, Martha’s legacy is her love, freely given, deeply felt, and lasting through generations.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Doyle Ladner, her daughter Cindy Banquer (Clint Burroughs); her son Marty and her daughter in law Kimberly Ladner; 9 grandchildren: Julia (Justin) Lewis, Jeffrey “Fro” Walker, Patrick (Ashlynn) Ladner, Deanna Ladner, Brad (Kristina) Ladner, Savanna (Michael) Hopkins, Jeremie (Chanda) Ramond, Whitney (Amonte’) Daniel, and Dylan Griffin; 22 great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Joshua, Emily, Ava, Kayden, Kason, Kellen, Kayla, Axel, Spencer, Nevaeh, Meilani, Elijah, Samuel, Jayden, Drake, Brody, James, Phoebe, Skylan, Lillian, and Scarlett. She is also survived by her brother, David Penton, and her sister Dora Penton, as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members and many dear friends.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents Martin Red Penton and Lora Thompson Penton, brother Wayne Penton, and sisters Gayle Penton and Betty Rockco.

Visitation will be at Oak Grove Baptist Church Sunday December 28th from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 3:00 pm Sunday with Rev. Leonard Smith, Rev. Russell Adams, Rev. Derek Dantin and Rev. Jimmy Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Justin Lewis, Jeffrey “Fro” Wlaker, Patrick Ladner, Brad Ladner, Nicholas Pendleton, Joshua Pendleton. Honorary Pallbearers are Marty Adams, Richard “Ricky” McNeese and Gary “Hawk” Hawkins.

Martha will be deeply missed, but her love, warmth and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
