Shirley Cherry Goodman

September 28, 1936 - December 19, 2025

Shirley Cherry Goodman, age 89 and a resident of Franklinton, Louisiana for the past 13 years, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, and went home to be with her Heavenly Father.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Masoner Donald Grady Goodman; her parents, Lucille Ott Cherry and Frank Cherry Sr.; her brothers, Joe Cherry Sr. and Frank Cherry Jr.; her sister, Catherine Cherry Hidalgo; her sons-in-law, Terry Percle Sr. and Joey Hepting Sr.; and her stepdaughter, Beth Goodman.

Shirley is survived by her children: Jeanne T. Percle; Denise T. McNabb; Cherry T. Melton (Robert); George Trosclair Jr.; Angele T. Hepting; Michele Trosclair; Darren T. Trosclair (Roxanne); and Shelly Goodman Grubb. She is also survived by her in-laws, Maureen Cherry and Brent Hidalgo; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was an avid knitter and crocheter and enjoyed keeping up with the news. She loved attending church and faithfully cheering on her New Orleans Saints. She worked at Eagle Buick for many years and later graduated from esthetician school.

Above all else, Shirley cherished time spent with her family, whom she loved dearly. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and found peace and strength in her relationship with God. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now rejoicing in Heaven and resting in eternal glory.
