Sean Gowan, age 34 and a former St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office employee, was terminated from his employment and arrested on December 3, 2025 for Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment. He is being booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center.
Gowan, who was a sergeant in the criminal patrol division, was terminated and arrested following an investigation by the STPSO Public Integrity Bureau and Major Crimes Division. He had been employed with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office since October 2014.
“Anytime an allegation is made involving one of our own, we take it extremely seriously. No one is above the law, and the trust of our community depends on our willingness to hold ourselves accountable,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “The behavior uncovered during this investigation is unacceptable and does not reflect the values of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.”
