Jimmy Ray Brumfield
January 1, 1954 - November 21, 2025
Jimmy Ray Brumfield, age 71 and a resident of the Stateline Community, passed away Friday November 21, 2025 at his home. Jimmy wasn’t born a country boy. He grew up in Bogalusa, but had grandparents who lived in the country and he was destined to follow in the country life. He met his future love as early as fourth grade at Angie and the spark was lit. In time, he and Marilyn met again and renewed friendship first, followed by love and marriage.
Jimmy and Marilyn made their home in Stateline and raised two children, Krystal and Landon. Jimmy was a dedicated husband and a devoted dad to these two. Jimmy was well liked and highly respected by those he worked with and his neighbors at Stateline.
Jimmy stood out as a good man, but more than this, Jimmy was a child of God. After many years of attendance, Jimmy came before the church and confessed how he had had a true experience with God and wanted everyone to know how the Lord had saved him. He continued to express his love for God and when he prayed in church, it was as if he was talking to God in His presence. Anyone who heard him on these occasions, knew that Jimmy Brumfield was talking to his Father.
Jimmy touched many lives and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. One of the joyous things he did each year was host the Fall Festival at his and Marilyn’s barn. This was a church, community, and friend outreach for Jimmy and he looked forward to it for months. He was an avid fisherman and caught fish throughout the months leading up to the festival. Then, he held a fish fry like none other. This past Fall Festival was the best of all…largest in attendance and in the fellowship enjoyed. Little did we all know it was Jimmy’s last.
Jimmy was loving and kind and left a legacy. He will be sorely missed by his family, Stateline Church, the community, and his friends.
