Steven Monroe McNeese, Sr., a resident of Kentwood, LA, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA. He was born October 28, 1958 and was 67 years of age.
Steve was a man who found joy in the simple things-family, farming, hard work and the beauty of everyday life. He had a passion for animals and growing gardens to share with the community. Music was one of his great loves-it filled his home and his heart. Whether he was listening, singing along or just tapping his foot, music was his constant companion. Above all, Steve loved his friends and family deeply, with a great pride for his grandchildren.
Steve is survived by his girlfriend Kayla Davis; Children - Ruby Ann Rodgers, Steven McNeese, Jr., Danielle McNeese, Stephanie McNeese and Troy, Milton McNeese and wife Josie; Grandchildren - Corey Rodgers, Heaven McNeese, Dayton McNeese, Junior Purkel, Madison Rogoz, Lillie Bagert, Shirlie Bagert, Abigail Bagert, Ariah McNeese, Amora McNeese and Kullen McNeese; Sisters-Linda Franks and husband Bruiser, Sheila McNeese, Patricia McNeese, Elizabeth McNeese, and Maryland Hawkins; Brother-Jimmy McNeese.
Preceded in death by wife, Mary Ann Rodgers; Parents, Milton and Lucille McNeese; sister- Diane McNeese; Brother- Eugine McNeese; Grandchildren-Jeremy Rodgers, Destiney McNeese, and Michael Monroe.
Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from from 9:00AM until Religious Services at 11:00AM on Tuesday. Interment San Pedro Cemetery, Franklinton, LA.
