Slidell Police had responded on October 15, 2025 to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the area of Possum Hollow Park and located a male victim in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics immediately began life-saving efforts before transporting the victim to a nearby hospital. However, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was later identified as 18-year-old Chancelor Parker.
Slidell Police investigators identified a 16-year-old from Slidell as the suspect responsible for the senseless killing. With the assistance of the United States Marshals Service and the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, investigators learned that the juvenile was hiding in the Hancock County, Mississippi area. On Monday (October 20, 2025) morning, investigators attempted to apprehend him at a Hancock County residence, but the juvenile was not present at the time. Later that day, the juvenile turned himself in to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. The juvenile will face one count of First Degree Murder and two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder.
Interim Chief Seuzeneau commended SPD's Criminal Investigations Division for swiftly identifying the suspect and expressed his thanks to the US Marshals Service and the Hancock County Sheriffs Office for for their assistance.
