The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force has arrested 44-year-old Michael Helton of Kentwood in its latest operation and charged him with 7 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of 13.
Back in August, the TPSO ICAC Unit started investigating the uploading of Child Sexual Assault Material (CSAM) on a social media app. Detectives determined Helton was the individual publishing the content and obtained a warrant for his arrest. This week, Helton was taken into custody and, after analysis of the multiple devices discovered, booked on the number of charges listed above with additional counts expected.
This activity is part of TPSO’s partnership with Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Office and their ICAC Task Force which includes a collaboration with numerous local law enforcement agencies.
