Douglas Michael Ervin

December 4, 1965 - September 20, 2025

Douglas Michael Ervin, age 59 and of McComb, MS, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born Saturday, December 4, 1965 in Tylertown, MS to the late Hershel Ervin and Dot Barker Ervin. Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his sister, Cora "CoCo" Ervin; and father-in-law, Randy Braswell.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Summit, 1108 Robb St. Summit, MS 39666, from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 12 noon. Burial will be held at the Seals Cemetery in Angie, LA at 3:00 PM. Hartman Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-876-3712

Mr. Ervin was a beloved father, companion, and friend. In his younger year he attended State Line Missionary Church and later became a member of First Baptist Church of Summit.  Doug was a proud graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where he received his bachelor’s degree. Not long after graduation he found his calling and began his career for over 35 years with Farm Bureau of Mississippi and Ervin Appraisal Company. But the joy of his life was calling all seven of his children daily and spending time with them. Mr. Ervin will be deeply missed. 

Survivors include Brandi Ervin; sons, Braswell Ervin and Brandon Ervin; daughters, Grace Ann Ervin, Amber Ervin, Jacqueline Ervin Greenlee (Link), Taylor Ervin, and Laura Leigh Ervin; brother, Rodney Ervin (Cindy Lou); sister, Sylvia Stogner (Winston); mother-in-law, Jackie Braswell; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family. 

Pallbearers will be Scott Ervin, Matt Sessions, Jimmy Lowery, Jon Kilgore, Chris Shivers, and Bryan Wright. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike McCormick, Joey Alexander, Ty Jones, Ted Fortenberry, and Ed Codding.
