Born to Tommy Ray Carney and Wanda Thornhill Carney at Marion General Hospital on September 21st, 1955. As the eldest of three siblings, Tricia was a guiding light to her family. She is survived by her beloved son, Benton Purvis of Nashville, TN; her siblings Linda Knight (Kyle) and Charles R. Carney (Kay), both of Bogalusa; and her cherished nieces and nephews: Cody (Meagan) Carney, Katie (Clint) Casanova, Kristy Carney (John), and John Scott. Her legacy continues through her many great-nieces and nephews: Caden, Shelbylee, Crockett, Creed, and Merritt Carney; Parker, Ridley, Gatlin, and Kendal Casanova; Gracie and Brantley Scott; and Camden and Kaylie Chevalier.
Tricia had a gift for painting, creating stunning and intricate works of outdoor scenes and florals that reflected her deep appreciation for nature’s beauty. She was always on the go, whether spending time with her painting group, playing cards with her best friends, or sharing laughter with her family. Her sense of humor never faded, even in times of hardship.
A devoted member of Superior Avenue Baptist Church, Tricia remained active in her faith community despite declining health. Her love for life, her family, and her faith were evident in everything she did.
Tricia will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit lives on in the memories she created and the love she gave so freely.
