On Sunday (July 20, 2025), the Ponchatoula Police Department responded to a shooting incident that resulted in the death of 17 year-old Marvin Wells and shooting injuries of two other persons. Ponchatoula Police Department detectives obtained arrest warrants for 19 year-old Julius Troyvon Glass Jr., 18 year-old Kera Wolbers, and 16 year-old Ray Delmer Carter. The warrants charge each with First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder, Assault by Drive By Shooting, Aggravated Obstruction of a Highway of Commerce, Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities, and Aggravated Second Degree Battery.

On Monday (July 21, 2025), detectives with the Ponchatoula Police Department obtained information that the three suspects were hiding at a residence on Olon Bankston Road in Kentwood, Louisiana. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office Special Response Team was requested to assist in the apprehension and subsequent search of the property. Upon arriving in the area, investigators were able to confirm the suspects were located on the property and obtained a search warrant. After a brief chase through a wooded area, Julius Glass Jr and Kera Wolbers were taken into custody. The juvenile suspect was also located on the property and arrested without incident. In addition, the homeowner, 50-year-old Dorris Carter, was taken into custody by deputies on the charges of Accessory after the fact (3 counts) and Failure to report the commission of certain felonies.
Once the area was secured, detectives were able to locate the vehicle and firearm believed to be used in the shooting.
