Darlene Kennedy Greer

November 15, 1950 – June 6, 2025

Darlene Kennedy Greer of Columbia, Mississippi, passed from this life into God’s presence on Friday, June 6, 2025 at the age of 74. She was born in Angie, Louisiana to Ernest and Bonnie Kennedy and has been a resident of the New Union Community for the past 56 years. Darlene was devoted to her family and her number one priority was her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She was known for her giving heart and she received great joy in giving special gifts and sentimental keepsakes to those she loved. Darlene will be remembered for the way she would make holidays and events special, creating lasting memories for her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ava Rowell and Delores Drewry; a brother, Ernest Ray Kennedy; and her beloved husband, Gerald Greer. 

Darlene is survived by two daughters, Nelda Terry (David) and Mandi Roberts (David); seven grandchildren, Katie Regan (Sam), Tyler Terry (Madison), Bailey Coker, Maddie Claire Coker, Brianna Byrd (Luke), Hayden Roberts, and Gavin Roberts; three great-grandchildren, Hayes Greer Regan, Grayson James Byrd, and Rosaleigh McCain Terry who will arrive on June 11, 2025; a niece, Allison Rowell-Beyer (Dan); and her special fur baby, Ellie Mae.

The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Tommy Broom, will be at Colonial Funeral Home on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 11:00am. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am until service time. Darlene will be laid to rest in the Randall Family Cemetery assisted by Tyler Terry, Hayden Roberts, Nick Terry, Clint Coker, Trey Stringer, and Nick Roberts serving as pallbearers.
