17-year-old Arrested for Armed Robbery - A Pair of Sneakers

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office reports that a 17-year-old Slidell male has been arrested after robbing a juvenile at gunpoint in Lakeshore Villages early Thursday (June 5, 2025) morning.

Shortly before 4:30 a.m. Thursday, STPSO deputies were dispatched after a juvenile male reported being robbed at gunpoint by an individual he believed he was meeting up with to sell an expensive pair of sneakers.

Upon meeting up, the individual, later identified by detectives with the STPSO Major Crimes Unit as 17-year-old Lilton Bibbins Jr. of Slidell, produced a handgun, stole the sneakers and fled in a vehicle.

Bibbins was located Friday (June 6, 2025) and arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center for one count of LRS 14:64 Armed Robbery.

Sheriff Randy Smith reminds residents that when meeting up with a stranger to sell or buy items, always meet in a well-lit public area and to try to meet during daylight hours. The parking lots of all of our buildings are designated “Safe Exchange Zones” with cameras and lights
