Otis "Bud" Bickham, Jr.

December 6, 1945 - April 18, 2025

The end of life is the beginning of new life, far better, far sweeter, without pain, sickness, sorrow and most of all no more death, to everything there is a season and at time to weep, and a time to love, a time to hate, a time of war and a time of peace.

On April 18, 2025, God Sent his angel to bring Otis “Bud” Bickham, Jr. home. He was born on December 6, 1945, to the late Otis Bickham, Sr. and Regina Miller Bickham.

He attended Vernon High School in Mt. Hermon, LA and after graduation he joined the Job Corps where he learned welding and was a blueprint reader.  He joined Plainview Church of Christ Holiness at an early age. He met and married, Silvia Watson and to this union three children were born.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Robert Bickham of Virgina, Yolonda and Beverly Bickham of South Carlina,  and Brain (Deanna) Mingo of Folsom, LA; stepchildren, Porsha Allen and Chad Allen; nineteen grandchildren, Shania Bickham, Ja’Den Toney, Jorrian ”JoJo’ Burkhalter, Kai Allen, Kade “KJ” Allen, Kennedi Allen, James Montgomery, Daira Montgomery, Detrix Archie, Larez Archie, Dominque Bickham, Robert Bickham, Jr., Brain Mingo Jr., Demetria Mingo, Dia Dejena Mingo, Vickey McGirt, Brain McCant, Eric McCant, Victory McCant, Junita Watson; three great grandchildren, Charolette Bickham, Kaleb Scott and Tangela Archie; three sisters, Majoria Robert, Shirlon Bickham of Mt. Hermon, LA and Nellie Bickham of New Orleans, LA; one aunt, Vernell Rushing of Franklinton, LA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Regina; two sisters, Linda Bickham, and Jane Price; six brothers, Charlie, Dexter, Kenneth, Lawrence, Larry, and Hedrick Bickham.   

A drive through viewing will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 3:00PM – 6:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 11:00AM at Plainview Church of Christ Holiness USA 24649 Vernon School Rd Mt. Hermon, LA 70450 with Elder Albert Brumfield -Pastor Officiating. Interment – Plainview Church Cemetery. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Franklinton are in charge of arrangements.
