Gail Stuart Freeman

July 24, 1950 - April 28, 2025

Gail Stuart Freeman, age 74 and a resident of Pine, passed away Monday afternoon April 28, 2025 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was the owner/operator of Merle Norman Cosmetics in Bogalusa for over 40 years. Gail took pride in serving her customers for years and years, often even across different generations of women and young ladies. She loved helping them prepare their best for weddings, dances and other special events in their life. She was a lifelong active member of Pine Missionary Baptist Church where she helped organize vacation Bible school each summer and coordinate other church events and dinners. Gail loved working in her yard and tending to her beautiful flowers and plants. Her other hobbies included scrap-booking and making pretty stained glass sculptures. Gail adored her grandchildren and cherished all the time she spent with her family.

Survived by: Husband of 59 years: Gary Freeman of Pine; Son and Daughter in law: Randall and Michelle Freeman of Grand Isle, LA; Daughter: Jennifer Freeman Cooper and fiancé Kevin Killingsworth of Pine; Grandchildren: Caitlynn and Skyler Saucier, Kelci Freeman, Steven Scott Cooper; Great-grandchildren: Grant and Blake; Sister in law and Brother in law: Linda and Roger Hessifer of Watson, LA; Special Friend: Lana Stuart; Also survived by several nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and many dear friends

She was preceded in death by her father Pete Stuart, mother and step-father Sue Boone Henkel and Bill Henkel, brother Ray Stuart, father in law and mother in law Earl and Lois Freeman and other family members.

Visitation will be at Pine Missionary Baptist Church (27098 Hwy. 62, Franklinton) on Thursday May 1st from 10:30 am until 1:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 1:00 pm Thursday with Eld. Adam Luper, Bro. Brent King and Eld. Glen Stuart officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Community Cemetery.
