Shortly after 5:00 a.m. on March 1, 2025, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L began investigating a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on LA 433 near Liberty Oaks Lane in St. Tammany Parish. The crash claimed the life of 28-year-old Justin Warren of Clearwater, Florida.
Upon initial investigation, Troopers learned from on-scene evidence and witness statements that Warren was struck by a gold-colored full-sized Ford pickup truck that fled the scene. With assistance from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana State Police Fusion Center, the vehicle was later identified as a 2012 Ford F-150 registered to 45-year-old Tyrone Williams of Slidell.
The investigation indicates that Williams was driving westbound on LA 433. For reasons still under investigation, the right front bumper of the Ford struck Warren, who was in the westbound lane. Williams fled the scene after the collision. Warren was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to injuries received in the crash. Restraint use and impairment on the part of Williams are unknown at this time, and toxicology samples were taken and submitted for analysis. Williams was arrested at his residence and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail. He was charged with Negligent Homicide, Hit and Run, and Driving on the Right Side of the Roadway. This is an ongoing investigation.
Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists of the importance of making good decisions while in motor vehicles. Follow all traffic laws, and never drive while impaired or distracted. Furthermore, pedestrians and motorists are urged to remain vigilant while on roadways and always pay close attention to their surroundings. Taking simple precautions such as these can often mean the difference between life and death.
