Donnis Strahan Lang

January 6, 1950 - March 26, 2025

Donnis Strahan Lang, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa, LA, at the age of 75. Born on January 6, 1950, Donnis devoted much of her life to caring for newborns and adults through her 25 plus years in dedicated service as a nurse. Her compassionate spirit and unwavering commitment to her patients endeared her to many.

Outside of her nursing career, Donnis was an exceptional seamstress whose talent breathed life into countless creations, especially cherished wedding garments and heartfelt gifts for family and friends. Her artistic gifts extended to crocheting and various arts and crafts, which she approached with the same passion and dedication that she brought to all her endeavors.

Donnis is survived by her loving sons, Kenneth L. Lang and Kyle L. Lang (alongside Christopher K. Morgan), her granddaughter Cameron Lang, as well as her two brothers, Gary Strahan and Stanley Strahan (Sharon). She leaves behind a legacy of love in the form of her cherished four nephews and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by her father, Levert Strahan; her mother, Esther Thomas; and one brother, Jimmy Dale Strahan.

In the coming days, family and friends will gather to celebrate Donnis’s life and the love she shared. Brown-McGehee Funeral Home has been entrusted with her final arrangements. A graveside service will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, where Bro. Russell Adams will officiate, honoring her memory and the indelible mark she has left on our hearts.

As we reflect on Donnis’s life, let us carry forward her legacy with kindness and creativity, cherishing the beautiful moments we shared with her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
