Jennifer Ann Smith

June 21, 1982 - March 21, 2025

Jennifer Ann Smith, beloved daughter, sister, and friend went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2025 after suffering from an illness.  She was born on June 21, 1982 to James L. “Jimmy” Smith, Jr. and Mamie Julia Ann Smith.

Jennifer was the baby of her family and was a 2000 graduate from Bogalusa High School where she was a Paperdoll.  

She had the softest, most compassionate and empathetic heart and loved her family and friends deeply.  She was such a kind soul and could not endure seeing other people hurt and would do anything she could to help them.  She also had the most infectious laugh and smile and would light up any room she entered.  

Those left behind to miss her are her father, Jimmy Smith; sister, Stacy Smith (Reb Breland); fiancé, Scott Mitchell; aunt, Rose Marie “Rhody” Bertoniere (Jeff); cousin Amy Harriel, and cousin Jason (Jackie) Worsham, along with numerous other aunts and cousins.  She also leaves behind her hearts – fur kids Zeke and Gizmo.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Smith; grandmother, Angeline Entrevia Walker, grandfather, John Walker; grandmother, Vera Smith; and grandfather, James L. Smith, Sr.

Funeral services will be held at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home (216 Alabama Avenue, Bogalusa, LA, 70427) on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Ponemah Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 9:00 am until services, Friday at the funeral home.
