Wilton "Big Cheese" Lee

September 22, 1964 - January 5, 2025

Deacon Wilton Lee Jr. passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, in Covington, La. at ST. Tammany Hospital at the age of sixty

He was a 1983 graduate of Bogalusa High, and three years at Southern University. He was a member of the Sweet Beulah Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon under the Leadership of the late Rev. James Magee Sr. and the present Rev. Charlie Parker Sr.

His passion was music and singing in which God blessed him with a beautiful voice. Singing at many weddings, including his own and funerals as well. He was well known by many as the Singing Bird.

He worked many years in the security field, such as eight years at RCC in Angie, La. and Capitol Bridge until his health failed him.

He was a little League Baseball Coach many years ago and served as a little League Baseball Umpire as well.

Wilton (Big Cheese), as many called him, was a very humble, soft-spoken all-around great husband, father, brother, and friend to all he came across.

Wilton’s memories will live on to his devoted wife Tina Brister Lee, of twenty three years; two daughters, Tasheena Willians of Bogalusa, LA, Nigeria Lee of Covington, LA; a son, Jerome (Ernestine) Williams, Jr. of Abita, LA; five grandchildren, Ronde White, Jerniya Williams, Jeremih Williams, Keelon Williams, London Abram whom he really adored; two godsons, Alfred Moses, Sr., and DeAntrez Spikes; brother, Don (Barbra) Magee- Bogalusa; sister-, Cheryl Faye Spikes of Columbus, GA; two sisters-n-law, Waketa Brister of Slidell, LA, Unshon Brister- Bogalusa, LA; two brothers-in-law, Curtis Brister of Bogalusa, LA, and Greg Bickham of Bogalusa, LA, a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilton Lee and Jessie Lee; a sister, Brenda Marie Davis, and a son, Etan Williams.
