Ella Rose Peters Lewis
June 21, 1954 - January 1, 2025
In as much as it pleased the Almighty God to call Ella Lewis, His faithful servant, to her eternal rest, let us reflect. The 1st day of January in each year is known as New Year's Day. This 2025 New Year came in with life all around and God allowed us to wake up to see the 2025 year in, but after 1:00pm for Ella Rose Lewis the day began to change. For Ella, that appointed time and hour of earthly life became no more and she had to give up the opportunities for another chance in her life, she had to let go of the resolutions she made, no need to check the calendar notations for appointment reminders, and that long list on her two thousand and twenty-five to-do list, not needed for this final trip. She answered the call.
Sister Ella Rose was tired and prepared to bow, for the curtain call on the last chapter in her book of life. It had been documented daily since 1954, and the final sentence had been entered. The book was now closed and sealed. Her full name was engraved on the front cover of her book of life, the date of birth had been engraved when she was born. The imprint was faded due to normal wear and tear. The date January first was entered with a fresh engraving and under the date was engraved FINISHED, END OF DUTY. It was all over and the end of her earthly life as we knew it was no more. Her being at that moment then became very precious memories for us. Well done Ella Rose Peters Lewis; well done.
On that last day of life, death came quietly upon her and escorted her spirit to a place that is free from sickness, grief, sorrow and pain. She departed this earthly life at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, Louisiana. Sister Lewis' cancer struggles came to an end. She lived 70 fulfilling years, 6 months, and 11 days preparing for a once in a lifetime trip to the other side. At the appointed time of one thirty, God gave Ella Rose Lewis a brand-new life.
Ella Rose Peters Lewis' earthly life began as a beautiful baby girl, a very devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, a caring and giving aunt and an awesome longtime friend. She was born in Bogalusa, LA on June 21,1954, to the late Elouise Peters Lott and the late 0. V. Robinson.

When she could no longer come to church, she would call in to listen to worship service every Sunday and on Wednesday, mid-week service conference call.
