Mattie C. Route

December 31, 1932 - November 29, 2024

Mattie C. Route of Covington, LA passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024. She was born on December 31, 1932, to the late Albert and Alice Crain, Mattie attended school in Franklinton, LA.

Mattie was married to the late Ernest Route and resided in Covington, LA. To this union two children were born, Brenda J. Route and Kyle (Shawn) Route of Covington, LA. Mattie was a member of Daughty Chapel Church where she severed many years until her health began to fail.

Mattie loved her husband and children very much. She instilled in her children that honesty, dignity and caring for others was important in life. Mattie worked as a caregiver for many years and was excellent at doing so. 

Mattie leaves to mourn her children: Brenda Route, Kyle (Shawn) Route and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Mattie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Alice and Albert Crain; three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation Friday, December 6, 2024 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM followed by funeral service at 11:00AM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terrence August - Officiating. Interment - Sweet Home Church Cemetery.
