Betty Graves Temples

Betty Graves Temples, age 80 and of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at her residence.
Betty was born July 25, 1944 in Bogalusa. She had worked numerous jobs over the years – various fish houses, Rutter Rex, and others. However, the most important job was “Mom”. She was the glue that held her family together and the rock that gave stability. Betty enjoyed talking on the phone, exploring, and especially reading books. Her dressing and dumplings will be a vivid memory for all who mourn her loss.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Estis and Edna Adams Jarrell; her first husband, Huey Lee Graves; her son, Huey Wayne Graves; her second husband, Johnny Temples; three siblings, Verdie Mae Dykes, Lillie Mae Dykes, and Wilbur Jarrell.
Surviving family members are two sons, Jeff (Tammy) Graves, Keith (Diana) Graves; eight grandchildren, Santana Graves, Kimberly Graves, Kara (Randall) Purvis, Ashleigh (Dustin) Dugar, Jacob Graves, Jamie Kuhn, Kim (Billy) Hyde, Peyton Hyde; eight great grandchildren, Natalee Johnson, Carlee Purvis, Gabriella Graves, Beaux Johnson, Jaxson Dugar, Caiden Dugar, Kaylee Purvis; four siblings, Dot Graves, Eula Mae Graves, Helen Barber, Doyle Jarrell; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Graves; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home (216 Alabama Avenue, Bogalusa, LA, 70427) on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 10:00 am. Rev. Doyle Ball and Rev. Matthew Williams will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Muster Ground Cemetery (26140 Jarrell Town Rd, Angie, LA, 70426). The family will receive friends and have visitation from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Friday evening at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Graves, Dustin Dugar, Austin Hunt, Greg Williams, Charles Williams, Sr., and Charles Williams, Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Ken Williams.
