Charles "Chubby" Ritchie
December 28, 1963 - December 10, 2024
Charles “Chubby” Ritchie, age 60, passed away on December 10, 2024, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was a life-long resident of Bogalusa, but had lived the last thirteen years in Sandy Hook, MS. Chubby spent his life hauling logs for Jerry Creel Trucking, but is can also be remembered for his love for fishing, riding boats, and just simply life on the water.
He is survived by his significant other and devoted caregiver: Helen Moore; one daughter: Angela Ritchie; a step-son: Jacob Moore; his loving mother: Mrs. Nedrey Creel; three grandchildren: Wyatt Moran, Knox Davis, and Kinzlee Moore; three brothers: Craig Ritchie, Barney Ritchie, and Jeffery Smith; a sister-in-law: Belynda Ritchie; and several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Chubby was preceded in death by his father: Clyde Ritchie; a special step-father of 48 years: Jerry Creel; and two brothers: Timothy Ritchie and Sidney Ritchie, Sr.
The family would like to extended their deepest appreciation to the staff of St. Tammany Parish Hospital and Hospice Staff for all of their care.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that a donation be made in Mr. Charles’ name to a local church or cancer foundation.
Brown-McGehee Funeral Home proudly serves the Ritchie Family. Visitation will start in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 10AM until time of service at 2PM.
