Robert Elton Bankston

August 10, 1951 - December 7, 2024

Robert Elton Bankston, age 73, passed away peacefully at his home on December 7, 2024. He was a beloved father and grandfather, known for his love of the outdoors and his dedication to his family.

Born on August 10, 1951 in Bogalusa, La. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially gardening, hunting, and fishing. Many cherished memories were made during his hunting trips, where he shared his skills and stories with friends and family. Fishing brought him peace and a sense of connection to nature, and he often returned home with tales of the one that got away.

Robert is survived by brother and sister-n-law Alton and Vickie Bankston, sister Dianne Thomas, sister and brother-in-law Lynn and David Lowery, brother Lester Bankston, daughter-in-law, Bridget Bankston, daughter and son-in-law Alicia and Shane Breland, son and daughter-in-law Marshall and Jessica Bankston, 9 grandchildren - Summer Creel, Aaron Breland, Courtney Breland, Gracie Ragas, Laiya Bankston, Hannah Bankston, Treyton Bankston, Maddox Bankston, and Maximus Bankston. 3 Great Grandsons - Ty Creel, Benjiman Arguijo, and Bankston Ragas, & numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Tommy and Eva Bankston, sister-n-law Donna Bankston, son Robbie Bankston and close friend Butch Edwards.

A service to celebrate Robert's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in his memory.

Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love and his passion for the outdoors will live on in the hearts of his family and friends
