Michael DeNeal Chatman, Sr.
October 8, 1981 - November 2, 2024
“The Beginning”
In loving memory of Michael DeNeal Chatman, Sr., he was born to Phillip Tate and Phenice Chatman October 6, 1981, in Bogalusa, LA. Michael gave his life to Christ at an early age as a member of Sweet Rest Missionary Baptist Church, then he moved his membership to New Bethel Baptist Church in Biloxi, MS. He later joined Ramsay Memorial United Methodist Church rededicating his life to Christ by Christian faith under the leadership of Pastor Nathaniel Barkum. He was a dedicated worker of NorthStar (special thanks) until it became unbearable for him to work.
Michael is preceded in death by his paternal (Doris Tate) and maternal (James Charles and Johnnie Mae Chatman) grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Zephaniah 3::17 The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you in his love he will no longer rebuke you but will rejoice over you with singing.
“Legacy”
Michael is survived by his parents, Phillip Tate (Franklinton, LA) and Phenice Chatman (Gulfport, MS). A loving and dedicated wife Kenyatta Howard-Chatman (Biloxi, MS). His children Quiana Chatman (Ocean Springs, MS), Miyah Brown (Moss Point, MS), and Michael Chatman, Jr. (Gulfport, MS). Two beautiful “bonus” daughters, JaMya and Ja’Kaylee Fleming (Biloxi, MS), who he loved and adored to the fullest. His siblings Pheon Chatman-Dunbar (Frederick) Ocean Springs, MS, Phillip Chatman (NaSheka) Diberville, MS, and Paige Chatman (William)Franklinton, LA. He leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, who will forever cherish his memory.
Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 9:00AM - 11:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM Sweet Rest Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Nathaniel Barkum - Officiating. Interment - Sweet Rest Memorial Gardens.
Crain and Sons Funeral Home - Franklinton are in charge of arrangements.
