Elnora Brumfield Warren

On Sunday, November 17, 2024 Sister Elnora Brumfield Warren, folded up her tent and moved upstairs to take her eternal rest.
Sister Elnora Brumfield was born on September 30, 1933 in Kentwood, Louisiana. The oldest daughter of the late Genie and Veter Burkhalter-Brumfield. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was baptized at Silver Creek AME Church (now Union Chapel AME) in Kentwood, Louisiana.
She graduated from O.W. Dillard Memorial High School. After graduating, she moved to New Orleans, Louisiana and attended Dillard University where she earned her license as a Practical Nurse. Later on she earned her certification as a Surgical Technician. She worked at Sarah Mayo Hospital and Charity Hospital, The Veterans Administration Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana where she retired with over thirty years of service.
She was united in holy matrimony on January 24, 1959 to the late James Howard Warren, Sr. and from their union they raised six children.
She resided in Harvey, Louisiana most of her life in Pensacola, Florida, and Humble, Texas at the time of her death. She was a faithful member under the leadership of numerous pastors at Historic St. James A.M.E Church of New Orleans, Louisiana for over fifty years, where she was a member of the Sanctuary Choir.
She was a member of The National Bowling Association and in 2018 she was honored for her 42 years of membership. She was the past President, Financial Secretary, Director and Coach of the Junior Division of the Crescent City Senate of the TNBA. She was a tournament staff member on the local and national level. She was a member of the Red Hatters Society and Eastern Star Bethlehem Chapter 163.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Genie and Veter Brumfield; husband, James H. Warren, Sr.; two sisters, Shirley Reed and Betty Franklin; two daughters, Gail M. Peters and Jacqueline R. Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her pride and joy her family starting with her sister, Mary Jane Hill; three daughters, Veronica L. Warren, Gwendolyn A. Warren, Patrice S. Warren; her son, James H. Warren, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Darzell B. Warren and son-in-law, Reginald J. Peters; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 9:00AM - 10:00AM followed by the funeral service at 10:00AM at Historic St. James AME Church 222 N Roman St, New Orleans 70112 with Rev. Dr. Demetrese D. Phillips - Pastor and Rev. Issac Doyle - Eulogist.
Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton are in charge of arrangements.
