Last week, detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit and Proactive Enforcement Unit concluded two separate investigations with the arrest of five Slidell-area residents.
The investigations resulted in the seizure of approximately 38 grams of Fentanyl powder, 113 counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl, unlawfully possessed suboxone, Adderall, hydrocodone, alprazolam, an assortment of drug paraphernalia and a semi-automatic handgun.
Investigation 1.
On October 30, 2024, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Brookhaven Court in Slidell, which was the home of 40-year-old Dennis Midkiff, 28-year-old Alicia Smith, 36-year-old Michael Midkiff and 55-year-old David Lambert.
While detectives were executing the search warrant at the residence, Dennis Midkiff and Smith were taken into custody in Covington with the assistance of Louisiana Probation & Parole. Michael Midkiff was located and arrested on a traffic stop during the same time, and Lambert was arrested at the Brookhaven home.
In total, detectives seized approximately 38 grams of fentanyl powder, unlawfully possessed suboxone, Adderall, hydrocodone, alprazolam, an assortment of drug paraphernalia, and a semi-automatic handgun during this investigation. Smith was on probation for Possession of Heroin and Dennis Midkiff was on probation for Possession of Fentanyl.
The four were booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on numerous charges.
Investigation 2.
On October 31, 2024, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2700 block of Slidell Avenue in Slidell, which was the home of 31-year-old Tevin Parker.
This brought conclusion to an investigation during which detectives obtained two warrants for Parker’s arrest pertaining to distribution of fentanyl. As detectives were attempting to execute the search warrant, Parker initially refused to come to the door and instead hid in a bathroom, where detectives found evidence to indicate Parker flushed drugs down the toilet. This was all while Parker’s 2-year-old daughter was in the home.In total, detectives seized 113 counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl during their investigation. Parker was also on probation at the time for Possession with the Intent to Distribute Fentanyl.
Tevin Parker was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on the appropriate charges.
In both cases, the Department of Children & Family Services was notified due to the fact children were living in the homes.
“Fentanyl is a very dangerous and deadly drug, and it is no secret that it is in our community,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “Our narcotics detectives are dedicated to identifying and arresting those individuals who are selling it in our community.”
