Hazardous Device Unit Called After Training Grenades Found in Slidell

Members of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Hazardous Device Unit were called to assist Friday (November 22, 2024) morning after another agency observed something suspicious while executing a search warrant at a Slidell-residence.

Detectives with the Slidell Police Department were conducting a search at a residence in the 1400 block of St. Ann Place in connection with an unrelated investigation when they came across what appeared to be three grenades.  

They immediately contacted the STPSO Hazardous Device Unit, who came out and took possession of what was quickly determined to be three training grenades.

The training grenades were transported to a secure location, where they will be properly disposed of.
