Angela Marie Melancon
October 26, 1958 - October 20, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Angela Marie Melancon (Gerald), a devoted mother, grandmother, and daughter passed away October 20, 2024, at the age of 66. Known for her unwavering love and dedication, Angela spent her life tirelessly caring for her family, including her parents, throughout their later years. Her selfless nature and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew her.
Our family would not be where it is today, had we had not had Angela as a mother. She was fiercely devoted to all children and grandchildren, raising all of them to go on to accomplish great things. Family came first and was above all else to Mom, a value she instilled in all those around her. Angela attended Pine Elementary school, then went on to graduate in 1976 from Fairhope High School in Fairhope, AL. She loved her plants, thrifting, antiques and watching old movies while cuddling with her pets.
She is proceeded in death by her husband, Elgin John Melancon Jr., parents Ella Rose Gerald (Passman) and Melvin Beryle Gerald, and her sister Deborah Rose Farinholt (Gerald).
She leaves behind her brother, Keith Gerald; two daughters Jennifer (Carter) Stelling, Michelle Black; and 8 grandchildren, Ally, Addie, Brady, Rico, Malia, Jonathan, Kenneth and Marcella.
A private ceremony is planned for her close family friends to celebrate her life. Our family requests donations be made to help cover expenses in lieu of flowers or other sympathy gifts directly to Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home and Crematory in Bogalusa, La.
The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.
In that gentle summer breeze, she went away, like the last golden rays at end of day.
A whispering sigh in the leaves' soft song, her spirit entwines where the cool winds belong.
Through fields of memories, we slowly walk, where every flower and stone seem to talk.
Her laughter's echo in the wind's caress, a soft, sweet reminder of life's tenderness.
Her warmth lingers in the sun's embrace, her love, a shadow that time can't erase.
Like a summer breeze, her touch remains, in the heart's quiet, amidst joy and pain.
So, as the seasons change and days unfold, her love stays with us, strong and bold.
In the dance of leaves, in every sigh, we feel her presence, never goodbye.
In fields of gold and twilight's hue, I feel your presence, always true.
In the dance of summer's gentle breath, I find your essence, beyond death.
Your spirit lives in every soft caress, A summer breeze, an eternal bless.
