William Hilliard Anglin
November 18, 1946 - October 18, 2024
I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith, from now on there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
William Hilliard Anglin was born November 11, 1946, to the late Hilliard and Alice Anglin in Baton Rouge Louisiana. He was raised in a Catholic Church and later at a young age joined the United States Air Force of the Military. William had a special love for all things outside, hunting, fishing, gardening, and building things. He loved animals and owned four cats that he loved unconditionally, Alex, Ralph, TyTy, and Luna, they were his babies. He also had a love for people and children, our grandchildren held a special place in his heart. He enjoyed helping people and said it was his calling. William was blessed to become a father in 1970, to a daughter, Jamie Wilson. He later married the now late Lois Ball Anglin and together they had two children, Michael M. Hayes (Nicole Hayes) from Atlanta Georgia, and Michell E. Hayes from New Orleans.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife Lavern Dokes Anglin from Mt. Hermon, La. 1 stepdaughter, Natosha Dokes O’Conner (Donald O’Conner) from Zachary La. 3 brothers Kenneth Anglin from Covington La., Andrew Anglin from St. Amant La., and Randall Anglin from Baton Rouge La. 2 sisters Pamela Rowell (Hessler Rowell) from Walls Miss. and Elizabeth Mora. from Florida. 4 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Hilliard and Alice Anglin, 1 brother David G. Anglin and 1 stepson, Charles Romalis Dokes. A life well lived, A book well written, A story well told, Another chapter beginning.
Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 8:00AM until religious services at 10:00AM on Monday, October 28, 2024. Services conducted by Rev. Dr. Mary M. Lucas. Interment Amite Memorial Gardens, Amite, LA.
