Obituary

Leanon "Lovell" Daniels

February 15, 1950 - October 4, 2024

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  Psalms 23:4

On February 15, 1950, Leanon “ Lovell” Daniels was born to Helen M. Hart Daniels and Nathaniel Daniels in Franklinton, LA. He departed this life on October 4, 2024 in Syracuse, New York.

Leanon joined Mount Zion Church of Holiness at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Magee.

Leanon left Franklinton, at the tender age of sixteen to enroll in Job Corp, where he was relocated to Kingston and Phoenix, Arizona. Although he majored in Carpentry, he ended up being a mechanic most of his life, both professional and self employed. Leanon relocated to Trenton, New Jersey to further his education, where he lived for a couple of years, before relocating to New Orleans, LA and working for Cottman and Aamco Transmission. Lovell also had a side job as a contractor in renovating and home repairs. Lovell came back to Franklinton, LA and resided there for a short time before relocating to Syracuse, New York and worked as a mechanic until his health began to fail him.

Leanon was a jokester as his brother, Melvin. If he didn’t have jokes, he had to be sick. He would say, “every day that God give me, I am going to enjoy it; I am not going to complain, but make the best of it and be happy”.

He leaves to cherish his memories four sons, Leonard (Katrina) Daniels of New Orleans, LA; Antonio A. Humble of New Orleans, LA, Leanon “Lenny” (Diane) Suazo of Houma, Louisiana, and Nathaniel Daniels of Syracuse, New York; three daughters, Lakeeta Daniels of Gulfport, MS, Helen A. Suazo of New Orleans, LA, and Shirley “AJ” Daniels of Syracuse, New York/New Orleans, LA; twenty four grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Jeardine “Shirley” Daniels Sparks of New Orleans, LA and Jacqueline M. Daniels of Franklinton, LA; one brother, Jerry Daniels of Franklinton, LA; four aunts, Celia M. Garrett of Chicago, IL, Margie (Alvin) McGary of Brandon, FL, Arlean McKay of New Orleans, LA, and Joyce (James) Jackson of Folsom, LA; one uncle, Donnie (Marilyn) Hart of New Orleans, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel Daniels and Helen Hart Daniels; one sister, Anevenet Daniels Johnson; five brothers, Nathan Daniels, Jr., Jural Daniels, Charles E. Daniels, Larry Daniels, and Melvin Daniels.
