Early Morning Gunfire Leads to Arrest of Two in Bogalusa

On Sunday (September 29, 2024) at approximately 2:14 am, Bogalusa Police Officers responded to a local establishment on Columbia St in reference to shots fired. On arrival officers encountered a chaotic scene but were able to determine that no one had been struck by gunfire.

Once officers gained control of the scene, the investigation revealed that an altercation had taken place between two groups of females. One of the females introduced a firearm but the firearm was then taken from her by an accomplice and fired at the other parties involved in the initial altercation. Officers recovered physical evidence as well as video evidence and statements from witnesses present. One person sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

24 year-old Chazity Lia Magee (pictured above right) of Mt. Hermon, Louisiana was arrested and booked with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Illegal use of Weapons, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, and Aggravated Battery. Bond has been set at $125,000.00.

32 year-old Chantel Jannece Walker (pictured above left) of Angie, Louisiana was also arrested and charged with Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon. Bond .has been set at $50,000.00
