Suspect Identified in Interstate Shooting Case

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has identified 35 year-old Bronze Williams as a suspect in a shooting that occurred on Interstate 12 at the beginning of the month. A warrant has been obtained for Williams' arrest on the charge of one count of Attempted Murder. Williams is currently being held in the Orleans Parish jail on unrelated charges.

On August 30, 2024 around 4 a.m., a St. Tammany Parish man was driving westbound on I-12 between the Pumpkin Center exit and the DPS Weight Station exit when he reported hearing three shots followed by the sliding glass of his pickup truck’s rear windshield shattering and feeling numbness in his right arm. When the victim realized he had been shot, he reported looking in his rearview mirror to see a vehicle exiting at Pumpkin Center. The victim continued driving into Livingston Parish where he pulled into a gas station to contact authorities. The man was treated and released from an area hospital that same day.

About two weeks later TPSO asked the community for assistance with this case. A tip led detectives to Williams, who is on parole for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Theft and Simple Burglary. He was taken into custody by the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole officers on Friday (September 20, 2024). In an interview with detectives, Williams alluded to road rage as a potential motive.

Sheriff Gerald Sticker thanks the public “for partnering with us to hold people accountable who commit crimes in our parish.”
