Pearl River Man Indicted for Father's Murder

District Attorney Collin Sims reports that today (September 18, 2024), a St. Tammany Parish grand jury indicted 53 year-old Vincent LaFrance of Pearl River for second degree murder relating to the fatal shooting of the defendant’s father, 74 year-old Doug LaFrance, on May 25, 2024.

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office detectives were dispatched to a residence in the 67000 block of Slaughter Drive near Pearl River in response to a suspicious death after Douglas LaFrance was located deceased on his front porch. 

Vincent LaFrance was arrested on June 5, 2024 and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on the chrge of First Degree Murder. 

Detective Matthew Morrison with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office headed the investigation. Assistant District Attorney Ronald Gracianette presented the case to the grand jury.
